Chris Webber Instagram – I take mental Health and Wellness very seriously. So being that this is the month to highlight how important it is to take care of one’s self, I want to introduce you to my brother David. David is a licensed psychotherapist in the state of Georgia and Michigan. He has masters degree in clinical mental health counseling from Northwestern university and specializes in trauma in both adults and teens.
Being a licensed professional counselor (LPC) vs your neighborhood relationship “expert” ain’t the same thing. Not only do you have to have at least a masters degree, you have to undergo 2-3 years of training (depending on the state) after you graduate to apply for licensure.
David has worked in prison settings with the severely mentally ill, psychiatrist hospitals, he was clinical director for grief and loss organizations, and have worked with collegiate and professional athletes as well as entertainers and CEO’s of Fortune 500 companies. But more importantly HE LOVES HIS Community!
To me, his greatest skills are his ability to listen, be compassionate, be truthful (even if it’s not something you want to hear), and most importantly, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
Oh and he’ll also buss your ass on the court. He was an honorable mention all American and finalist for Oscar Robinson player of the year award in 2001 at Central Michigan university. And he even broke Larry bird’s Rose arena record by scoring 51 points in a game his sophomore year of college. He was inducted in the Hall of Fame at CMU….
Be good to yourself… seek help if you need it… if you don’t .. look out for someone who does ….
