Dean McDermott Instagram – My hockey idol @bjsalming passed away on Thanksgiving. He was a God to me. Big and strong and defended that blue line like no other. I play defense because I wanted to be Borje, I blocked shots because I wanted to be Borje, I still do at age 56, because I want to be Borje. I think about him every time I go down in front of a shot, and I’ll continue to do so until it’s time for me to hang ‘em up. Mr Salming, thank you for your amazing contribution and heart and soul you put into the game I love so dearly. You will forever be my hero and idol.
