If you take everything personally, you become easy prey for those people, the people who take out their own problems and dissatisfaction with themselves on others.
You take it personally, you let it get to you, even the emotional garbage from other people that in itself has nothing to do with you, but you let it get to you because you take it personally.
And then that emotional garbage that had nothing to do with you becomes your own emotional garbage.
