Dulé Hill Instagram – tonight is the premiere of THE EXPRESS WAY with @dulehill at 9p/8c on @pbs. a passion project that dule and i had been developing since 2018. one that got passed on and almost died during the pandemic. but we kept on sharing the gospel until PBS – an institution that has fostered the arts longer than i’ve been alive – recognized its importance and stepped up. #ExpressWayPBS is more than a project i directed. it was a higher calling to shine light and celebrate artists using their craft in deeply transformative and impactful ways. and the premiere episode in california delivers on that calling: a deaf dancer @shaheem; a senior citizen cabaret troupe @grantavenue_follies; and the first LGBTQ mariachi group @mariachiarcoiris. a vibrant cross section of folks using art to rewrite their narratives like so many of us in this great state. thx to PBS and the @calico_inc team for understanding the mission and executing with such passion. you all equally deserve the credit (below) 🙏 special shout to @choward824 @jazmynsimon
