Fiann Smithwick Instagram – One of the larger ammonites I’ve found on the Jurassic Coast in recent years!

This is an ammonite from the Middle Jurassic Inferior Oolite I found a few years ago after a cliff fall brought it down onto the beach.

The tool on top is an air scribe – a pneumatic chisel that you use to slowly remove the rock from the shell. I’ve still got a lot of work to do on this one before it’s finished!
