Gordon Toi Hatfield Instagram – Well, back home now it’s been a pretty special time these past few weeks. What an honour to serve the school that gave me so much. I’m forever grateful to my mentors Henare Mahanga, Clive Fugill, James Rickard, and Jim Fergus for teaching me but moreover believing in me when I didn’t believe in myself as a young man. To my family @maakatepotoi @tokamapuna Chanel, my uncle and aunt who came to tautoko me thank you all for being there when it counts! To all the old boys that came to check us out and lift our spirits with their presence. Nga mihi. To @eraia and whanau thank you all for your manakitanga. To all 3 wananga Te Rito, Takapu, and Whakairo having the opportunity to bring us all together for this kaupapa could not be missed. I hope that this experience has bought you all a little closer as whanau. Finally to my boys that stood the ground with me during our 8 days of bringing my tupuna Kohuru Te Whata back to life, thank you all for trusting in the process and trusting me to guide us through.
