for me anyway.
I posted this as a story recently but wanted to keep this on my feed because I think it’s important to share with other creators and non-creators alike.
The video I’m referencing that took me 16 hours is the Voice AI reel that did quite well, 1mil views but sadly there’s no way for Canadian content creators to see $ returns from views.
In fact 90 out of the 100 videos I put out year, I made for free, to experiment, provide value, to entertain and while I’ve had the highest output in ages, I’ve simultaneously had the most challenging financial year ever.
If you’re out there making the things you love and somehow getting paid for more than just 10% of your output like me, would ya share the knowledge?
I’m deeply grateful for the community I’ve fostered online and the support I receive from all you guys. Of course I’m also aware that this messaging comes from a place of privilege and that I’m so lucky to be able to do what I love.
The last thing I want to do is come off as a creator who is trying to make you feel sorry for them, but I want to reinforce that I’m in this for the long haul and I won’t stop making things I love until I leave this planet.
