Today marks the first anniversary of the day when the world witnessed a public political lynching in the Tennessee General Assembly. It’s the day when Representative Justin Jones and I were expelled from our duly elected seats for standing up for children and parents who want to end the epidemic of gun violence—the #1 cause of death for children in Tennessee. It’s the day when TN Republicans chose to protect guns and not children, to protect their power and not democracy. Never forget April 6! Let’s keep fighting to protect children, not guns, to see justice, not White supremacy and for democracy, not tyranny.
