Homelessness is pervasive, made worse by knowing that children in this situation are unlikely to ever attend school. Without an education, they remain stuck in the cycle of homelessness.
I realize the little I did that day won’t fix the situation or make a big difference. Still, I wanted her to believe there are people who care and hope for a better life for her and her family. And that it’s possible.
