Sara Ramirez Instagram – As much space as I make for anger/rage/sadness, it is imperative that I make as much- if not more- space for joy and pleasure. I’m a human being who deserves love, joy, pleasure, silliness, fun, and for my whole self to be accepted and respected. Here is some of my joy in recent days! . . Pic 1: selfie of me squinting in the sun cosplaying Billy Idol with a curled lip, recently changed hair to platinum, laying on a towel with my sunglasses and Parable of the Sower (yes! It took me forever to read it! Yes! I struggle with staying focused when reading! :)) as I soak in the first rays of Spring. Pic 2: Mio in the midst of capturing one of his fave toys in his mouth. Pic 3: Me and Sawyer selfie, out and about having fun! He’s got cute glasses on and an olive beanie. I’m, of course, wearing black. Pic 4,5,6: beautiful blooming Spring at Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, Sawyer taking a pic, and a video of gorgeous reds blooming. Pic 7: my red nails for Red Ink at Joes Pub. Sara Ramirez Instagram – Thank you @lanzybear and @watermelonpicturesco for welcoming us to this intimate screening of Walled Off; an incredibly powerful, moving, educational and galvanizing film by @vinarfuso , produced by @anwarhadid @rogerwaters @kwekumandela and Immortal Technique, that centers Palestinian humanity and stories over numbers, and shows the Palestinian perspective on how the ongoing Nakba continues today. And so let’s hear it one more time- Who here is Palestinian?” Everyone erupts in an even louder “WOOO!”. Then Qween exclaims “Viva Viva Palestina!” The crowd laughs and enjoys it!
