Steve Perry Instagram – “When Sony contacted John Jackson and myself to oversee the remastering of the original Journey analog master mixes up to 192K HD, I was very excited to revisit those original tapes. Adam Ayan at Gateway Mastering was contacted and the process began. Because they were recorded in so many different sounding studios with many years between all these recordings, it took almost one year to complete. As it was nearing completion, I realized that—sonically and musically—this was not just another re-mastered compilation, but was sounding like a newly released LP. This was my hope for these recordings which were made from a time when we were musically at our best. All the original accompanying music videos, released in the same timeline, have been visually upgraded to HD along with these remasters. Please enjoy these timeless performances.”
