Utkarsh Ambudkar Instagram – a story about “Bring in the 808s”:
I was driving to meet @shankartucker and @kalysay at the studio for the first time and realized I had absolutely nothing to share with them, so I turned on my voice notes hoping to find something in the ether that I could offer…and verse 1 and chorus of “Bring in the 808s” happened.
Nothing too complicated, but the vibe felt good. I walked in the room, said hellos and played the voice note for Shank, who immediately got to work.
Within 5 minutes we were recording and an hour later the song was done. A beautiful and magical moment in music making.
