Everyone always asks me what type of heels is best for class! Here’s my answer!!! Some teachers also like to use pumps, I’m not one of them but it’s also correct!!! I guess it all depends on the type of choreography you are doing!!! And as for how high you should get your heels, I always say that if you can’t go on relevé wearing your heels then they are too high for you!!! And yes, I’ve worn high thigh boots in the past, but I just think you should be an advanced dancer if you are going to wear high thighs boots as it attracts a lot of attention on you!!! On this exact day but 10 years ago, I received a call from @cirquedusoleil 🙏🏻 asking me if I could choreograph for ZUMANITY in Las Vegas, I was only 24 years old !!!! Crazy right ?!!! To this day, this has been and still is by far my favourite professional experience. I miss everything about that time !!! I miss my original cast ❤️ actually, I miss the entire cast of ZUMANITY !!! From the intense rehearsals to partying like rockstars to watching and being inspired by all the amazing artists in the show night after night… ugh I miss it so much !!!! This show was fucking EPIC 🤷🏼♀️ This experience definitely helped me become the artist that I am today, cirque taught me so much and yet it allowed me to be completely myself. They gave me so much freedom and had so much respect for my vision and my art 🙏🏻 I miss being around that much professionalism, the way they would respect dancers just as much as a singer or an acrobat, cirque made no difference. An artist was an artist, I truly miss that respect. I love that the show was all about celebrating being different, sexuality, LOVE. I love that 10 years later my message is still the same « Be you, do you and f*** everyone else » It makes me so sad that this show is no longer in Las Vegas, because more than ever this message is still needed. It really was my favourite show there 🤷🏼♀️ But I will forever be grateful and proud of this experience. Thank you @cirquedusoleil for the trust and the memories.
