Amythyst Kiah Instagram – I played in an old time string band in college (yes, you can do that!) and “Bury Me Underneath the Weeping Willow” was the first Carter Family song I ever learned. We performed a few times at a place called the Carter Fold in Hiltons, VA, a venue that is run by Rita Foreester, granddaughter of A.P. and Sara Carter. I have many wonderful memories playing there, and Maybelle Carter has had quite an influence on my guitar playing. This year is the 50th anniversary of the Carter Fold, and here’s to 50 more!
