Anna Akana Instagram – Comedy can be a lonely industry, even doubly so if you’re a woman. That’s because we’ve been trained by our own industry that there was only enough room for one of us on a lineup. So when you meet someone you vibe with, it’s special. Enter: @annaakana .. aside from her brilliant, quippy videos, she’s an amazing standup comedian. Watching this woman not only come back from a stalker situation that nearly ended her comedy career, but put together her new hour has been nothing short of inspiring and remarkable. She’s turned what could have been the darkest moments of her life into something so poignant and beautiful. From her dad leaving for war to escape fatherhood to losing her little sister to suicide, she tackles it all and with Grace and humility far beyond her years. Being asked to open for Anna on her first tour back, has been such an honor. But more importantly it’s so nice to see a woman on top sending the elevator back for others.
