On this day and every day please be aware that disabilities come in all shapes and sizes, and sometimes can’t be seen. 30 years ago today International Day of People With Disabilities was founded by the UN “to promote an understanding of disability issues and mobilize support for the dignity, rights, and well-being of persons with Disabilities.” On this day let’s reflect on the progress that has been made to accommodating those with Disabilities, and think about how much farther we have to go.
