Maroofian, sounding weak, has been on hunger strike since August 31 to protest her violent detention. She has been repeatedly detained and harassed by Iranian authorities for interviewing, last year, a family member of Mahsa Jina Amini, whose death in state custody sparked months of anti-state protests.
