Birth Story:
(Short version)
We weren’t expecting him to come early, Dirk was actually a few hours out of town for a job when it all started. I brushed it off and thought this can’t be it. Luckily I checked in with the midwives and she suggested Dirk come home. By the time he got home I was in full blown labor, contractions I couldn’t talk through and the midwives came right away. They set up the birth tub in our bedroom. I could barely walk the contractions were so intense. I labored in the tub, then on a birthing stool and then in my bed. And with the help and support of Dirk, Cassius and our midwives from @kindredspacela Mosey was born into our loving arms. I’d be lying if I didn’t say it was the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but it was 100% worth it. And I haven’t had to leave my bed since (except to go to the bathroom). It has been so warm, personal and loving. This entire experience. And it continues to be.
I know home birth isn’t for everyone, but if you are curious about it I’m happy to talk about it all day. Truly a gift. I’m so incredibly grateful. And thank you all who have shared your love and support with us, throughout our relationship, through this pregnancy, and in celebrating our growing family. We love you all. ♥️
