Cassie DiLaura Instagram – where it all began 💫 in 2008, I won a sweepstakes from @mtv and @sunkistsoda. I was 15 years old and flown to LA to attend the “mtv sunkist orange nation party” with @kimkardashian @khloekardashian @kourtneykardash & DJ @petewentz. (the “orange nation” of it all becomes important, keep reading 🥲)
I remember it so vividly.. looking at the actual bright lights of hollywood from the rooftop of @thelondonweho thinking, “I have to be a part of this.” I just didn’t know the ‘how’ or ‘what’ yet. I contemplated event planning… no? public relations…no? journalism sounded like me. I like talking 😂
it was my junior year of high school, so it was time to figure out what college I’d need to go to now to make it happen. I applied to the top 5 journalism programs in the country and wound up at my #1 choice… @newhousesu at @syracuseu.
ya know, syracuse is referred to as “orange nation”. I went there from 2011-2015. what are the odds I won a sweepstakes 3 years prior that would determine my life path and it was called the “orange nation party”? I just put two and two together this week and it brought me to tears. it’s not a coincidence. God has been planting the seeds and giving me signs from the very beginning and continues to do so every step of my journey. even when we don’t know what’s next or how to get there… He does. 🙏🏼
