Dayle Haddon Instagram – Happy World Ballet Day!! Ballet was so much a part of my life since the age of 5! I was fortunate to become a member of the Canadian Ballet Company, Les Grands Ballets Canadiens training with Russian teachers who demanded so much. I learned about tough discipline from 13 years old on…as a company member. I was also lucky enough to perform ( in a minor role of course!) with the #kirov ballet company when I was a teen. While kids my age were dating and doing everything young people do, I was training full Time and in summer ballet camp most summers. It kept me very focused and the discipline has served me well in life… the feeling you can over come so much if you put your mind to it! I learned early on….that in discipline can come freedom!! Eventually the pain and tears I saw around me made me shift my view and I went on to do other things. But the training I had ( almost military-like) I’ve been grateful for ever since and a piece of me is always in the ballet and dance.
