Erica Page Instagram – I’d love to put this judgmental Karen mom on blast & share her username, but i’m not that kinda person. And I know not all moms are like this, but I did feel a strong need to atleast share the message, bc there are more people out there that do these kinds of things, & make women feel horrible & kick them down when they’re already down & it’s not ok.
God forbid we show the not so perfect, “highlight” parts of the journey, & actually keep it real, & be honest about struggling w/the adjustments that come with being a mom. The judgy Karen moms are waiting on the sidelines like vultures ready to attack.
Some choose to only share their “highlights” on social & that’s ok if it’s all that mom is comfortable doing. But I’m pretty positive some would love to share more, ask for advice, & open up more than they do, but don’t out of fear of how the judge mental moms will make them feel.
I mentioned these judgy moms contributing to PPD bc we already put so much pressure on ourselves as is. And when we’re doing our absolute best, giving our all, & we have a negative Nancy come & remind us of how we’re failing & how we should do better-it can lead to even more negative thoughts & feelings that can lead to PPD.
We should be lifting each other up! Sharing advice when we see a mom struggling w/something we’ve likely been through, & if anything-try to be understanding when she’s open about her journey & experience for what being a mom has been for her. It’s different for us all. And just because it’s different, it doesn’t make one way better or right-it’s simply different-& that’s ok.
Anyway, shout out to all you moms out there who are doing your best everyday. You are amazing! And if you have a judgy mom in your life, make sure you remind yourself that her negativity towards you comes down more so to her feelings about herself rather than you.
