أسمع من ناس كتير إنّها تقلق وتتوتّر من فترة العيد، بس بالنسبة لي العيد زي فترة كورونا اللي جلسنا فيها في البيت: فترة ممكن أستخدمها كفترة نقاهة أو تجديد أو ترميم أو هروب أو استجمام أو حوار أو مراجعة أو تنفّس أو تبلّد أو دراما أو كل ما سبق مع بعض. بس لمّا يخلّص العيد أحسّ الدنيا رجعت لمجراها ووقتها يجيني القلق والتوتر اللي بعض الناس يجيهم في العيد.
على الأقل العيد أيامه معروفة ومعدودة واللي ممكن يستفّزنا في العيد عارفينه وعارفنا، بس الأيام اللي بعد العيد مفتوحة للأبد بدون رسمة واضحة ولا حدود مرسومة. كل شيء يرجع. مع بعض. بدون ترتيب. بدون تنويه. تختار تعيش قلق في فترة محدودة ومرسومة ولا قلق مفتوح بدون رسمة ولا حدود؟

I hear from many people that they worry and get anxious about Eid, but for me Eid is like the Covid period, during which we sat at home: a period that I can use as a period of recovery, renewal, restoration, escape, recreation, dialogue, review, breathing, dullness, drama, or all the above combined. And when Eid ends, I feel that the world has returned to its normal course, and the anxiety and tension that some people experience during Eid comes to me.
At least the days of Eid are known and numbered, and those who can trigger us during Eid are known to us and we are known to them, but the days after Eid are open forever without a clear demarcation or drawn borders. Everything comes back in no order. Without notice. Would you choose to live anxiously within a limited and prescribed period, or live anxiously for good?
