Every year, the concert takes place at Carnegie Hall, where Philip Glass and Laurie Anderson work their magic by orchestrating a delightful blend of musicians to celebrate Tibetan culture. Artists from all corners of the globe unite to preserve the profound wisdom, beauty, and special art of freedom to the people of the world – a freedom that is essential for all people.
The atmosphere at Carnegie Hall was filled with a sense of unity and hope, as everyone came together, yearning for a more peaceful future.
Bob Thurman, with his insightful words, traditionally opens the concert, followed by the enchanting chants of the monks.
Over the years, I have been fortunate to attend this event numerous times, marveling at the diverse talents that converge to spread a message of peace and respect for all.
From David Bowie to Iggy Pop to Patti Smith, Joan Baez, Gogol Bordello, Jlin, scorching quartet….the stage has seen an array of fabulous performers who have graced the event with their presence.
