Heather Headley Instagram – My #mom started me in #pianolessons when I was 4yrs old. She put money aside so that I could have lessons every week. A sweet woman named Ms. Joseph taught me even when my little fingers were too short to reach the octaves. I could be headstrong and a little sassy (all ‘fixed’ in private by my parents after my lessons 😆), but Ms. Joseph stuck with me, and taught me until she couldn’t. My mom added our lessons to her already-tight budget, and made sure my brother and I had our music lessons through high school. That gift from my Mommy is one I still ‘open’ to this day. As I watch our 4yr old little one and her sweet teacher, I can’t help but be grateful for patient, kind, #piano #teachers, who make music fun, yet functional. I’m not sure I could reach my own children 😆! I know what a gift music is!! And hopefully, in years to come, maybe she’ll recognize the same. 🎹
