Heather Headley Instagram – ‘Told my sweet #son about a tradition we had when I was a girl in #Trinidad. We’d go to church on the 31st (Old Year’s Night, as we call it), welcome the new year at midnight, send the old people home (and at that time in my life, I believe that included anyone over 35 🤦🏽‍♀️), and then stay up all night playing games. The end of the celebration came with a welcome of the first sunrise of the new year. It was always a highlight for me! Our son looked at me and said, we’re doing it! Now that I’m OLD, I made it to midnight. His brother made it to 3am. But our oldest did it. I told him to wake me up right before sunrise so we could welcome the sun together. And we did!! New #tradition made!! I’m praying for so much for and over my #family this year. ‘So much… But I pray we also have countless more moments like these.
