As more and more #microplastics are being found in humans, you’ll be delighted to hear that animals are legally force-fed plastic, which is obviously awful for them and obviously awful for us. And the cherry on top, this isn’t an isolated problem, this is a legally allowed practice all around the world that has been putting plastic directly into the food supply. And doesn’t this just speak volumes about how little we view these animals. We view them as having such little worth, that forcing them to eat plastic is considered acceptable and permissible. How can we treat these animals with such disregard and contempt? What sort of malevolent force are we to subject sentient individuals with feelings and emotions to a life of subjugation? Plastic in animal feed is a symptom of a wider problem, and until we create a truly ethical and animal-free food system, unethical and horrifying practices will continue to be endemic in our food supply.
