You’re not just looking at artwork for my new song Quitter here, you’re also looking at the artwork for my second album. Yes! Album! Second album! It’s called Quitter! And it’s coming out February 9th, 2024 🥹
The opening lyrics of Quitter are “I used to understand, I used to have a plan”. Which in a lot of ways sums up this album for me. I used to think I could outsmart life. Check every box, do everything right, do everyone proud, and then the pieces fall into place forever and happily ever after the end no disappointments no nagging sense of existential dread will ever rear its head good job katelyn wow you’re so good at this here’s a gold star. This album chronicles my experience of losing that lens on life and finding a new one. And the realization that “looking back I only lost what I didn’t need” ✨ go stream Quitter and get ready for Quitter (I’m sorry I’m realizing just now how confusing this is, but I believe in us). Thanks for all the love and support. I’m so grateful.

Shout out @ethanhawke 🥹 this idea was really inspiring to me while making my new album Quitter. Sometimes I can feel like making songs and writing about my feelings is sort of indulgent or not important. Who am I to think I have something to say or offer? But then I remember the times I’ve heard a song or heard something said in a way that made me feel understood, and I fall in love with the process all over again. Very grateful for the opportunity to express myself, and very grateful for others who do it too ✨
