Kelsey Edwards Instagram – we all know this scenario: you’re scrolling through IG, minding your own business, then BAM you’re smacked in the face by someone who seems to be doing literally everything better than you.

they’re better looking than you, smarter than you, more successful than you, etc.

you get that stabbing feeling in your gut of guilt mixed with shame, and you run down the laundry list of reasons you feel horribly inadequate compared to them.

does that sound familiar? cause it does for me. it just happened in fact 🫠

what i’ve realized over the years is that every time i’m feeling jealous, i’m actually feeling scarce. i’m feeling lack, and i’m feeling like there’s not enough. because SHE’S pretty, i can’t be. because SHE’S having success, i can’t.

and that’s simply not true. an abundance mindset knows there is more than enough to go around. there is enough for everyone, and someone else’s success doesn’t take away from mine.

in fact, someone having success and coming into my space (digitally or IRL) is actually a sign that i am also worthy of that level of success. it proves to me that i am an energetic match for success, and if she can do it, so can i!

thank you, successful person, for being a signal to me of my own abundance and potential.

instead of staying in the feelings of guilt, shame and anger (because, let’s be honest, those emotions are really what jealousy boils down to), we can 1. ask ourselves what this person is mirroring back to us that we don’t like about ourselves, and 2. pull ourselves out of scarcity by sending them energetic “well wishes” for everything we feel triggered by.

when we do that, we remove the power of the trigger and remind ourselves that if they can have great levels of success, so can we. there’s enough to go around, and their success does not take away from our ability to have success.

in fact, it’s even more proof that that level of success is available to us too.

save this post for next time you feel triggered, and let me know if you have any other tips or tricks in the comments 🙂 ⬇️⬇️
