Krys Marshall Instagram – For the longest time I held this belief that you can’t have a kid and a career. You just can’t. I believed that the moment I had a kid my career opportunities would vanish. That I would immediately be devoid of “cool”. That my kid would suck the ambition out of me. Or even worse, that the yearning would still burn, but my kid would hinder my ability to see it through. I was doubtful. I was afraid. And thankfully, I was wrong.
Today was my first day back and I’m happy to say, I still got it. My brain’s a bit foggy and I’m FaceTiming more than before, but I’m still in there. Everyday I fight for the “old me” and everyday she shows up; different and better.
I’m proud of myself.
I’m happy my fears weren’t facts.
