1. Give your cat equivalent enrichment. Remember cats are arboreal so they need places to climb, scratch up and explore.
2. Safe guard the area if need be with a pen or fencing
3. Teach your dog that ball time only happens outside. Inside time is calm time
4. Sometimes covering the base with al foil helps as some cats dislike the sound and feel of it
5. Smaller trees are less climby than large ones…
6. Keep the tree away from other furniture that makes it easy for cats to parkour
7. All things fun happen away from the tree. Play, eating, patting, resting etc
