Lea DeLaria Instagram – In 2015 I hosted a concert presented by @tribecafilmfestival celebrating the 100 birthday of Frank Sinatra. To open, I was asked to sing Luck Be A Lady Tonight and Just In Time. I did, then introduced the first performer and went backstage. Tony was there. “Hey!” he says to me, “Just In Time is MY song what are you doing singing MY song?” He was of course joking, so I replied, “ Actually, I don’t have time to talk right now Tony I have to go back out and sing I Left My Heart In San Francisco.” He just put his head back and laughed and laughed with that beautiful twinkle in those Tony Bennett eyes. He never stopped belting even when he sang with Bill Evens. He was an original, an icon, an amazing musician and frankly one of my heroes. RIP dear Tony. Sing a duet with Ella for me. 💔
