Lena Waithe Instagram – We are so grateful to the LEGENDARY Debbie Allen as we kicked off our very first Hillman Honors | Women on the Rise event! On this sacred Sunday we honored female space makers who are shifting the landscape in entertainment. This event was a call-to-action for all of us to support and champion the roles of women who are change agents and disrupting the industry. Hosted by @GiaPeppers, this year, we honored Debbie Allen and the legacy of “A Different World”, and highlighted women on the rise with a brunch panel ft: “A Thousand and One” Writer Director, @AVRockwell, “Kokomo City” Director, @TrueDSmith, and “Twenties” breakout actress @JojoTGibbs, and our Hillman Grad Founder @LenaWaithe. By coming together, we hope to inspire the next generation of female leaders! We are actively planning the next one and thank you to our partner @SohoHouse.
