As this episode of the mother/child dynamic comes to a wrap, I want to share one final thing my mother did really well…
She met us as peers once we became adults.
She intentionally said “hey, I’m not going to tell you what to do now, you’re grown, make your own decisions and live your life and I’ll be here cheering you along the way.”
It’s scary to let your baby bird fly away from the nest! But it’s absolutely necessary. And known you’ve done all you can do – and you’ll be a safe landing pad whenever they need to return home.
