You were likely first introduced to the actor as Jill, her scene-stealing role in the critically acclaimed It’s A Sin.
The joyful yet gut-wrenching series followed a group of friends during the AIDS pandemic, and when it first aired, West struggled to handle the speedy rise to fame. “I had feelings of not being deserving, not knowing how to manage it, and also imposter syndrome,” she says now. “I went through that year being like, ‘Wow, something’s changed.’”
