Yesterday, 8:38pm and the last frame of the film hits. Cut to black and lights up in the theater. We start to grab our things amongst Numah’s spilt popcorn and suddenly everyone turns towards us to hold one more applause for the film. We’re overwhelmed to say the least, because it’s absolutely our most vulnerable piece of work to date. And also because we can see the hearts, healing, pain, and joy glistening across the cheeks of the cast, crew, friends, families, extensions, and strangers. We made a film. Barely a feature according to the academy and not according to SAG. But according to our full, preview screening audience last night we made something that feels absolutely like a movie, but more importantly to us… something honest.
