Missy Franklin Instagram – How does one freeze time?? I’m sitting here writing this with my toddler sleeping in my arms. Knowing that even on the hardest of days and moments, I will miss this. So I try to cherish every second. I never want to forget how she puts her baby dolls to bed, how she asks for “bounce house upstairs, come on mommy,” every two minutes. How she walks outside and says, “Oh, feels nice!” regardless if it’s 60 degrees or 20. How she walks up to me and puts her hand on the side of my face, looks into my eyes, smiles, and then walks away. As a mom it can be hard to do both. To validate the hard moments while also cherishing every second of this time. But I know I’ll never get this back. So I tell her every day how grateful I am to be her mommy, and I tell Hayes how grateful I am to be his wife and partner in life, because I truly couldn’t do this without him. So going into the New Year it’s my goal to keep trying to do this as much as I can, validate and appreciate. Every moment with this family of mine is the greatest dream I’ve ever had, and I can’t believe I’m living it.
