Mmabatho Montsho Instagram – In between Screenings: Skull of My people directed by @vincentmoloi
If you don’t know the past, what are you building the future on? – Skulls of my people
Watching “Skulls of My People” was a deeply moving and eye-opening experience. The documentary shed light on the heartbreaking struggle of the smallest tribe in Namibia as they fight for the return of their ancestors’ skulls, taken by the Germans for racial science profiling after the genocide of 1904. I was filled with empathy for the tribe and their quest for justice, and I couldn’t help but feel a sense of outrage towards the historical injustices they have endured. The film’s portrayal of resilience and determination in the face of such adversity was both inspiring and thought-provoking. It sparked important conversations about colonialism, racism, and the ongoing impact of past atrocities. “Skulls of My People” is a powerful reminder of the importance of acknowledging and confronting the dark chapters of history, and a call to action for social justice and reconciliation.
THAT’s A WRAP! 🎬
