Of course, I chose women empowerment. How I wish I was able to share this with you on Women’s International Day! But better late than never 😊
Growing up in Curaçao, I had the privilege of witnessing remarkable women in action. My grandmother fearlessly managed large markets, while my mother pursued continuous education, excelling in her career while also managing household responsibilities. These women, among many others, truly made a difference in their communities. Reflecting on these experiences, I realize the importance of empowering women.
Empowering women is crucial for several reasons. It promotes gender equality, allowing women to have equal opportunities in education, employment, and leadership roles. When women are empowered, they contribute to economic growth and development, as they are more likely to invest in their families and communities.
Furthermore, empowering women is a matter of human rights. Every individual, regardless of gender, deserves to live a life free from discrimination and oppression. By empowering women, we are not only improving their lives but also creating a more just and equitable society for all.
By choosing to focus on women empowerment in the G20 summit room, we have the opportunity to bring attention to this crucial issue on a global scale. Let’s make a positive change together! 🌍💪
