Human pollution has significantly disrupted the equilibrium of the ocean’s ecosystem, leading to the degradation of coral reefs. As a passionate snorkeler, I cannot imagine visiting a lifeless underwater world. I was made aware of my contribution to ocean pollution, heightened during my last snorkeling trip when a friend, an avid diver, suggested using reef-friendly sunscreen. It has become a must-have whenever I put on my snorkeling mask. That’s why I’m happy to work with Geneco this Chinese New Year for their #VoyageToProsperity initiative to invite you to dive deeper with them, explore the vast coral reefs that are thriving within our waters, and join them in their conservation efforts. In collaboration with National Parks Board’s Garden City Fund, these red packets are designed to illuminate the beauty of coral reefs, which serve as a pivotal foundation for a thriving marine ecosystem. This is symbolised by the radiant flow of fishes in vivid hues of pink, blue and gold, as well as the blooming corals to represent their flourishing prosperity. Printed on FSC-certified paper, each red packet also features 8 unique lesser-known facts on our coral reefs.
