I know it’s only been two years for me, but I can tell you that my decision to transition was the best thing I’ve ever done. I used to wake up in a panic thinking that I made the wrong choice, and that my life would be so much easier living as a boy. It would and never will be. I know at times the thought of detransitioning sounds so much better than the hard lives that we lead. I used to think it was an easy way out. It’s not. It’ll just hurt you even more. Even if you’re a single damn day, week, year, etc. into your transition, be proud of that. You’re doing it. And I can promise that those feelings will eventually get easier to deal with, and slowly fade away. I’m so happy that I’m trans. Please know that I love you and I’m proud of you.
