Rachel Riley Instagram – Incredibly well supported night for @cst_uk last night, the can’t-use-enough-superlatives brilliant Jewish charity who keep us safe, foil terrorist plots and use their expertise to help other minority groups keep their communities safe, amongst many other things. Anti-Jewish hate has exploded since Hamas’ attacks on October 7th, but one thing I hadn’t appreciated was that the single biggest number of antisemitic incidents was in the week following the atrocities, and before Israel had even begun its response. In the week after 1200 men, women, children and babies were murdered in Israel, 240 were kidnapped and countless more were raped, maimed and orphaned, CST recorded 416 antisemitic incidents against British Jews in UK. This is why we need the CST. Grateful to all its staff Mark Gardner, @daverich321 and volunteers, founder Sir Gerald Ronson who’s stood up to everyone from the NF to far left to Islamists, and pleased the government announced extra funding for the next 4 years, unfortunately it seems much needed.
