Rochelle Redfield Instagram – I’ve been spending a few days with some furry friends where my first confetti skies painting resides. Much water has flowed under the Kingston/Rhinecliff and Rip Van Winkle bridges ( this spot in the painting is about half ways between )since then. “Days of stormy optimism “ is the sub title of the show that took place at Murray’s cafe, which Covid sadly closed permanently. I’ve been commissioned several times for confetti skies paintings set at various places around the globe but this very first one, against a storm lifting over the Hudson, resonates with how I was feeling at the time and makes me ask myself if my optimism is dwindling amidst the horrors we are witnessing everyday, and what role art can possibly play. I’m proud of this piece, and happy that it lives with cherished friends. If anything, it has been witness to many gatherings of people who are dear to one another. And that connection with community is the richest source of optimism to weather the storms. #confettiskies #strongertogether
