ओरे मनवा तू तो बावरा है…
1 year of Jubilee!! I spent 3 days on the set of Jubilee and within those 3 days I experienced one of the worst days and also one of the best days of my acting career! Let me explain. 13/12/2021 – got a call to audition for a @motwayne show. I was thrilled! Catch – audition the same day and shoot from 15/12/2021 Reason – The prosecutor’s character was written and cast as male. The director chose to make the character female during the shoot to pay tribute to Nargis’s character in ‘Awaara’, which was one of the earliest instances of a female lawyer being shown in Hindi cinema. I auditioned. 14/12/2021 – At 4 pm I get a call. I got the part. Call time next day morning 7 am at Naigaon. Catch – had a prior commitment that I couldn’t get out of that evening. Spent the entire evening anxious. Returned home at 2 am. Opened the pages sent to me… realised there were more scenes than I auditioned for! Tried to learn my lines and catch some sleep. Couldn’t do either.. 15/12/2021 – reached set. Met the director. I had been briefed but I didn’t have much context cos I hadn’t read the whole script. I was nervous, exhausted, anxious and I fumbled. There were other stars/actors, extras and of course Vikramaditya Motwane. They got their shots but I was unhappy. What I was feeling can be best described as ‘ye dharti phat jaaye aur mujhe nigal jaaye!’ I apologised to the director. To my surprise he apologised to me that he cast me at the last moment and threw me in the deep end. Woahhh 🙈🙈 One of the worst days of my acting career. That night I stayed back in Naigaon on my own in a nearby hotel and chose to not waste time going back and forth from Andheri. I got the time to prepare and rest. 16/12/2021 – I reached the set prepared. Rested. Confident. Knew what I was doing and I was in control. I had some brilliant co actors and the give and take was amazing! I started enjoying so much that by the time I was interrogating @aparshakti_khurana I was in a trance. When the director called cut. The extras clapped! By the third day, I had received 2 rounds of applause and director came and patted me on my back! One of the best days of my acting career! 👻❤️
