Siobhán McSweeney Instagram – What a bloody lovely day. Honestly. Thank you all so very very much for the kind messages. @nicolacoughlan screamed with delight down the phone this morning. And @stephensobal rang to tell me how delighted he was. And I came into work @nationaltheatre and @louisadodgeharland had flowers and Justine and Tom had fizz and Josie brought in fancy doughnuts. And we all clapped. There were hugs from everyone. And smiles. And I felt very special. Like properly so. And I said it. And then I spent the whole day in 1936 in the hills of Donegal saying some of the best words ever written. And my darling @kevin_joseph_brady and @ahaactors sent me more flowers. And I got the best video message from a special little girl in Canada kindly sent by @mrtrevorwhite @eleanormatsuura. And myself and @jackdaverooke messaged and giggled and said how funny and lovely it all was. And loads and loads of loved ones messaged and called me. And my brother who knows nothing about my job rang because he knew this means so much and said “ I can hear the smile in your voice” and I was indeed smiling. He was correct. And I had physio after rehearsals and I’ve just arrived home now and I’m no where near responding to the kind and generous messages. What a day lads. Im glad I’m not cool enough to take this casually. But I’m cool enough to realise how cool this is.
