Skyler Samuels Instagram – To the class of 2020, I am one of you. 16 years ago I decided I wanted to go to @stanford. 9 years ago I got into my dream school. 8 years ago I started. 4 years ago I got to walk in graduation, but felt incomplete with the remaining units I needed to officially graduate hanging over me. I couldn’t afford to finish. 3 months ago I re-enrolled to complete my degree online while in quarantine. Today, I graduate. There is no right way or right timeline to accomplish the things you believe in, it’s not your dream when it’s a reality—you’ve made it happen. For my fellow members of the class of 2020 all over the world, don’t let the current global circumstances get you down. We don’t need a ceremony to be celebrated. We celebrate everyday in the achievement of our education. We will use it to make the the world a healthier, happier, and more equal place. We celebrate in paying it forward in how we treat others, in leaving the world a better place than we found it. Class of 2020, I stand with you. I believe in you.
