Torrey DeVitto Instagram – These are the women in my family. 🤍 My great grandmother, Luigia (Louise) DeVitto came from Italy through Ellis Island. She had 5 sons who all fought in World War II. When they tried to deport her back to Italy she said, “ then give me back my sons.” She fought for and started our lives here. My Grandmother, Josephine DeVitto was fierce, elegant and loving. She persevered through so much abuse and pain throughout her life. I draw so much of my strength, humor and grace through her. My Grandmother Eloise Louden. She is my archer, my inspiration for independence and self-perseverance. She was the matriarch of our family. A former psychiatric nurse, she touched many, many lives. My grandmother was one of the strongest women I’ve ever known. My mother, Mary DeVitto. There isn’t enough time nor enough words to express all the ways my Mom has and continues to inspire me. She was the constant facilitator to making all my dreams come true. My rock. There isn’t a room she walks into that does not light up from her presence. I still look to her daily for constant guidance and wisdom. I see her in my reflection, in the shape of my body and the sound of my laugh. My sister Devon got her nursing degree at 40 years old. She taught me that it’s never too late and life always keeps going. Who is and will always be my big sister, my protector whom I costantly look up to. My little sister Maryelle has shown me the strength and power of being a single Mom and doing it all on your own. She has taught me the strength in never stopping and never giving up. She is the walking embodiment of what a Mother and a fighter truly is. She is my inspiration. All my sisters are my suns on any cloudy day. These are just a few in the long line of women in my lineage. I am lucky to have them. They are all a part of me in both body and soul.
