Vanessa Ray Instagram – My palms are sweating, my face is flush and I got a little lump in the throat, but here goes: I had the pleasure of being a guest on my besties new podcast @theplspodcast . The night before @nicolekaplanfenton called to just go over a couple details. I knew that in each episode there is a moment (“the main squeeze” I know it’s almost too adorable) where guests are invited to talk about a time in their life that they turned lemons into lemonade so to speak. I have a go to story I usually use. It involves your classic -girl gets heart broken- girl goes to beach to talk to God-girl packs up her life and moves to NYC and now you see her on TV on Friday nights 🤩Woo! I’ve had a lot of time between me and that story so it’s pretty easy to tell. I know how to punch up the good parts to make ya cry or cheer. … This time it was with Nicole. I had to start telling a new truth. So I pulled on my big girl pants one @glennondoyle and @brenebrown pant leg at a time and spoke. Basically in a nut shell: your girls #bipolar. Yeah I hash tagged it. Turns out lots of people are and this one really blew my mind, LOTS OF PEOPLE AREN’T! Like lots of people. You can imagine my shock when it was explained to me by several professionals, that some people DON’T wake up every morning thinking “shit, I made it through the night. That’s a real bummer.” So with lots of guidance I’ve spent the past 4 years working on all the mess I’d made. Sorry, my illness made. It’s still hard for me to not take ALLL the credit. One of those good ol character defects you hear @daxshepard talk about. 😉 … Anyway, I’m here and really really grateful that I’m alive. If you listen and relate, I’m here for you too. I’m ready to listen and share more. Know you’re not alone. You are loved. And as my dear friend Paul once said to me “I’m going to have an amazing F%*;ing life!” It’s a promise he made to himself and I wanted in on that. … Oh and when I say I have to “work out everyday” guys… I’m not like out there CRUSHING WORK OUTS. Obviously. I’m more like stretching with the heat on or literally layyyying inside an infrared sauna blanket like the hollywierd elite I am (not.)
