Victoria Baldesarra Instagram - This moment. This moment means everything to little Vic. I was 19 years old when I moved to LA. I was young, impressionable, yet excited. At the time, I was fortunate enough to meet with 3 pretty large modeling agencies here in Los Angeles - all of which told me “well you have a nice face, but you’re too short and need to lose 15-20 pounds before we sign you.” This crushed me and ultimately made me step away from pursuing anything further in the modeling industry. Growing up a dancer, I can’t say there wasn’t a day I didn’t obsess over how good or bad my body looked that day. I was constantly body checking, talking down to my body and just being so hard on myself. Since then I’ve been doing the work to love the body I’m in and appreciate what she does for me, but I’ve also found comfort in my body image journey through being an big advocate for mental health. When @goodamerican reached out to me about their #GAOpenCasting call in LA, I really just thought why not? What do I have to lose? I posted a video to my tiktok in October and hundreds of you commented with such love and support. This journey with GA has been one of the best moments of life & career thus far. So I just want to say thank you. It’s been so hard keeping this little secret to myself, but I’m just so proud & excited for this campaign to be out in the WORLD. Thank you Good American for this once and a lifetime opportunity.
