Alex Brooker Instagram – Today is International Day for Persons with Disabilities. This first photo was taken when I was at my most self conscious about my disability. I was 17, had just had a major operation on my leg and was desperate to just be like my mates. I wanted to play football like them and didn’t think I’d ever have a family of my own one day. I wish I could go back and tell that kid what was to come. To anyone feeling like I did then, I want to tell you it can get better and be proud of who you are.
