Cedar Wright Instagram – In honor of International Women’s day I’d like to celebrate the exceptional @us_womens_paragliding team! Right now as I write this we have four female pilots competing against the best pilots in the world in what is basically the “Super Bowl” of paragliding, @flyfreerunwild @readysetgalen @alexiaf8 and @jellyoneil …It’s called the “Paragliding World Cup Super Final” and right now I believe we have the most women to qualify of any country, and in fact there are more American women than men in this years superfinal! Historic, and Impressive work ladies. Unlike the “Super Bowl” … in paragliding competitions the women and men compete together…against each other in the “overall results”, and @flyfreerunwild and @readysetgalen have podiumed in some competitive North American comps, beating out hundreds of men in the process, and proving that women can compete at the highest level! In fact @readysetgalen is our current over all US champion! Beyond the four women competing in the superfinal, there are a whole host of up and coming ladies who are pictured in these photos, and frankly, they are some of my best friends, and I find myself hanging with my “girl-crew” more than the dudes on a lot of my international paragliding trips. The last slide is a video taken on task 1 of the 10 day competition, which was cancelled due to rain, but the competition will be heating up over the next week so send good vibes to all the women, and all the people in general competing in this obscure but noble pursuit. ❤️🫶 | Posted on 08/Mar/2024 18:25:00
